Preventing & Addressing Vicarious Trauma in Peer-Support Services

This workshop introduces the steps to building a trauma-informed organizational environment. The core principles of preventing and addressing secondary traumatic stress (STS) within peer-support organizations will be presented. Special attention will be given to policies, practices, and strategies that aim to prevent retraumatization.

Elisa Fuller, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Los Angeles. She specializes in parent-infant mental health and supporting families during and following a NICU stay. Dr. Fuller co-chairs the Social Equity and Justice Committee for the National Network of NICU Psychologists.
