Founded by NICU and medical mom Ashley O’Neil, It’s a NICU World is dedicated to supporting NICU families through every stage of their journey with compassionate resources, education, and community. Created from both professional healthcare experience and lived experience, It’s a NICU World offers thoughtfully designed tools for parents navigating hospitalization, medical complexity, grief, and life after the NICU. The It’s a NICU World Collection includes a children’s book, a NICU journal designed to guide parents through their NICU stay, and a 12-month planner created to help families manage life after discharge. Through advocacy initiatives, meaningful conversations on the Ask a NICU Mama Podcast, and family-centered resources, we strive to help parents feel seen, informed, and supported. We also collaborate with hospitals, nonprofits, and community organizations to provide meaningful support to NICU and medically complex families while raising awareness about the realities of the NICU experience.
