Thank you for considering participating in this research study.
Who is doing the study? My name is Ashlee Vance. I am a Research Fellow at the University of MichiganPhone: (616) 443-0650Email: [email protected]
Why am I doing this study? We have created an online survey for parents who either had or currently have an infant in the NICU during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The survey consists of demographic questions and a few reliable and validated measures focused on understanding the impact of NICU hospitalization on parents. University of Michigan IRB deemed this to be an exempt study (HUM00181809). All parents will agree to participate before answering any questions. We are confident this data will provide valuable information about how we can provide better care for families and infants now and long after the pandemic is over.
Why were you asked to participate? You were invited to participate because you are a parent who either had or currently have an infant in the NICU during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Will my participation be anonymous? Yes, all your answers and information will be kept confidential.
What is being studied? This study aims to understand the impact of NICU hospitalization on parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What are the benefits of participating in this study? It is my hope and goal that with this data we can inform and change policies that better serve parents at all levels. This data will also allow us to develop targeted interventions that support parents, provide necessary education, and advocate at the national level and across health systems.
Are there any risks to participating in this study? No, parents can voluntary choose to complete the survey and if they choose not to finish they may end at any time.
How long will it take? Your participation in this study should take no more than 30 minutes.
Will I be paid to participate? No
