We are proud to announce the publication of the paper, Improving Staff Knowledge and Attitudes towards Providing Psychosocial Support to NICU Parents through an Online Education Course” in the journal Advances in Neonatal Care (open access).

This paper was written in collaboration with members of two other organizations – Patient + Family Care and the National Perinatal Association – and demonstrates the efficacy of the course we co-created to educate NICU staff on how to provide psychosocial support to NICU parents.

The 7-module online course, “Caring for Babies and Families: Providing Psychosocial Support in the NICU” is based on the Interdisciplinary Recommendations for the Psychosocial Support of NICU Parents, published in the Journal of Perinatology (open access)

“Caring for Babies and Families” is changing the way NICUs deliver family-centered care. Since launching this course in January 2018, we have awarded more than 1,000 continuing education credits to NICU physicians, nurses, and social workers from over a dozen hospitals.

You can learn more about this innovative collaboration between parents and providers here on our website and at My NICU Network and by contacting Sara Mosher, RN, BSN, MHA at [email protected]
